A documentary capturing photographer and activist Misan Harriman’s journey documenting global protest movements that drive social change. Follow Harriman as he highlights the resilience of grassroots activists fighting for equality, civil rights, and social justice, the film showcases the intersectionality of these movements and their collective power. With historical context, interviews with activists, and explorations of digital activism, the documentary reveals how Harriman's lens brings the world's activism to light, inspiring viewers to recognize their own power in shaping a more just society.

When Sara asked me to watch the screener for 'Shoot the People' I had never heard of Misan Harriman, but photography and protest piqued my interest. It wasn't far into the screener however, when I realised the style was familiar - black and white - often close-ups of protesters - with a clarity and humanity that is impossible to ignore.
I found the film fascinating in its 'story' of how the son of a Nigerian billionaire went from working in the city of London to being a world-renowned photographer of global protests - from Black Lives Matter, to protests against climate change and protests for a ceasefire in Palestine.
An even more lasting impression though is the solidarity of protesters. The serene determination and defiance echoed across their faces is at least as memorable as their iconic placards and is a stark reminder that the right to non-violent protest must be protected.

Our Film Club is a regular chance for people who love films to get together to discuss them.
Every month, we pick a few titles from our main programme, and meet to chat about it after the screening. The bar will remain open for those who fancy a drink.
We welcome anyone with a passion for films, from enthusiasts to aficionados or even someone who knows nothing about films except they enjoy watching them! We hold friendly and informal conversations, while also providing some extra information about the film, the cast and the director where relevant.

We’re thrilled to launch a brand-new season of Welsh language films and events in collaboration with We Learn Welsh – Iaith i Bawb. This year-long project celebrates and strengthens our connections with Welsh speakers and learners, both here in our community and further afield.
The FILM part of the season 'Sgrin a Sgwrs' is supported by Ffilm Cymru through their Film Exhibitor Fund, which comes from the National Lottery via the Welsh Government and the Arts Council of Wales. For the next year there will be at least 2 screenings a month of a film made in Welsh with hosted opportunities to learn and chat about the film afterwards.
Our programme will showcase a rich mix of storytelling – from animations and documentaries to shorts and feature films – including the eagerly awaited Tanau’r Lloer (Fires of the Moon), premiering this November.
